23 weeks

Finally, a picture of my bump! The weeks are just flying by, and I'm starting to feel like November is not very far away at all. There's still so much I want or need to do, but I'm glad we've been making a bit of progress lately. In the last week we bought and set up the crib and re-arranged the guest room furniture to make it into the baby room. This weekend Irving ripped out the glass doors we have in the bathroom and put in shower curtains. I've also been doing quite a bit of research on cloth diaper systems and the various brands out there.

Sadly, there's been no crafting at all, but there's been some much-needed inspiration: a 4-hour screenprinting class in San Francisco last weekend (no pictures - totally forgot!) and a trip to the Renegade Craft Fair with some great friends. I'll be back soon to show you all my loot!

You look so cute!

Regarding the cloth diapers, we bought a few fuzzi bunz size small and bumgenius one-size (both are pocket diapers) to try out, and then ended up going with a full set of bumgenius one-size. Velcro is easier than snaps on a wiggly baby! The one size diaper is a bit bulky, but I can live with that since they'll last till she's out of diapers. I think that softclothbunz.com has set of several different diapers you can buy to try before you decide. kelly's closet and the diaper whisperer blog are also good resources.

One more thing--we didn't start using the cloth until she was about a month old. Even though it was wasteful, using disposables at the beginning gave us one less thing to think about. There's enough to adjust to those first few weeks without washing diapers!!

and i can't believe how much you've done already setting up the nursery. we were so behind... but in the end, we got it all done in time! and cloth diapers?! wow! i'm impressed. i don't think i could do it. =P

Aww, how precious! My brother in law is currently using cloth diapers on his very big and very heavy 1 year old boy. Find him here: http://house-of-monkeys.blogspot.com/. I do have to say he made it work well and saved a LOT of money in the process. He even gives a good detergent mix that worked especially well on the cloth diapers! Good luck!

i wish we could do all those baby preparations... we'll be moving to london right after the baby is born... which is quite stressing.
but i'm enjoying it anyway.
