ducks!

We got ducks! Yes, as pets. Random, I know. I'm not really sure how it happened. Irving got the idea somehow, started researching them obsessively, and then.. they were shipped to us earlier this month, meeping away in a little cardboard box. All 3 are girls, and we named them Thelma, Louise, and Betsy. Here they are, getting acquainted with Charlie.

  3. Insanely adorable!
How can you manage to care
for everyone? I find it hard
to take care of myself and Israel
let alone my husband and our dog.
    You're amazing!
    Charlie is cute too!

  6. I've never heard of having ducks as pets--but they are adorable. I'm guessing they live outside, or do you allow them in the house? Where you nervous that Charlie might snap at one of them? I'd be afraid that Briscoe would mistake a chick for a stuffed animal!

  7. J - fortunately, Irving takes care of Charlie and the ducks. i don't have to do a thing!

PJ - yup, they live outside. they poop all the time so can't be allowed in the house. and yes, we were a bit nervous with Charlie, but she's really obedient when we ask her to stay away from them.. so she only creeps slowly towards them occasionally for a sniff or two!

  9. They are so gorgeous - they will probably grow quite quickly though. Charlie looks funny as if she is not sure what to make of them!

  10. Oh the dog! What a great face. We had ducks and chickens for a while. It's a bad combo since the mama duck is always trying to teach the baby chicks to swim! Your babies are gorgeous. The fuzz and green grass are perfect.
