I've got another gift or two left to give.. (wrapped in a drawstring pouch I sewed, which I then stamped with a little tree I carved out of an eraser - forgot to take a picture of it until now!)
..and I got a bunch more gifts over the weekend when my brother and my new sister-in-law came back from their honeymoon in Asia. They brought me so many goodies from Hong Kong that I nearly fainted. Fabric, trim, and a stack of sewing books! One of them is in Japanese (shown in the first picture - I've seen and drooled over this one before in blog-land), and the rest is in Chinese, which is fabulous because I think I'll actually be able to read most of it. Apparently there is an entire district of Japanese-y things!

ps very cute christmas tree
I love your little bag with the tag and the cute little stamps - I really must have a go at making a stamp from an eraser. I also love these sewing books and would like to be able to read them, although I have heard that the photos are reasonably easy to follow.
Jacqui
adorable! i love the drawstring pouch! what did you use to stamp the tree with? what fabric did you use? what was in it? :)
and what lovely presents!!! so lucky. :)
melissa - i carved the tree out of an eraser and used a stamp pad that works for fabrics. the fabric was just plain muslin, and inside the bag was a little fabric birdie from joelle hoverson's patchwork gifts book!
Wendy,
You are so lucky to get so many lovely things from your brother and his wife! Looking at all the pictures makes me want to take a shot at making some simple clothes!
jacqui - yes, the sewing instructions tend to have a lot of pictures. i love that about the japanese / asian sewing books!
meredith - i am! it makes me want to try too :)
hi wendy! another question! where did you get the stamp pad that you used? i stamp on fabric, but it smudges because it's not the right kind. i've looked around but haven't found one.
congratulations by the way!!! (for winning the prize!)
hi melissa! i got it at a scrapbooking store actually - but i've seen them at joann fabrics, but not michael's. make sure the package says that it's okay to use on fabric. mine is called "versa magic" -- archival multi-surface chalk ink pad. hope that helps! (and yes, i'm super excited about the address file, thanks!)
those trims are so pretty! ^^
Hi there, your blog is very sweet and beautiful. May you show me the picture of the cover and the name of these three sewing books. I would like to buy them for my sewing projects at home. Can you please tell me the publisher of those book, too. So that I could order those books online. Thanks so much! My email adress: pttu207@gmail.com
